The playing season is almost over!!.
Bradenham Bowls Club
As we close the door on August, the evenings are drawing in and the season is almost over.
We reflect on what September brought us which was mixed results in all leagues except for the Ashill & District Mixed Triples league where remain firmly at the bottom, holding everyone up. That’s no reflection on our players; we just didn’t get the rub of the green. In the Age UK League (formerly known as Age Concern League) we came 2nd in the league and the Mid Norfolk League although not yet confirmed it looks like we’re positioned in the upper tier of this league. Final positions will be available next month.
Our progress in the Cup knockouts was maintained in the Age UK League where we beat Saxon 32 – 29 which takes us through to the semi-final against Reepham (A) on Wednesday 27th August. Unfortunately, we were knockout at this point and wish Reepham well in the final. In the Mid Norfolk League Cup we lost to the Kings Head, North Elmham.
A Ladies v Gents Competition is planned for Sunday 7th September 2025 at 2.00pm where anyone wishing to come along and watch the Battle of the Sexes take place, would be made most welcome.
The annual challenge for Ashby Shield against Watton took place over two legs where we lost with Watton retaining the Shield
I would like to thank those members who put themselves forward each week and played in all formats of the game whether home or away, your commitment and spirit in the face of adversity remains second to none of which I thank you.
The Internal Club competition is well under way too with some interesting fixtures played which culminates on our Finals Day at 2.00pm on Sunday 14th September 2025.
