Flaming June – “Flaming Rain”!!

I don’t envy Carol Kirkwood’s job, but to be fair it’s been horrendous in trying to juggle postponed games which are somewhat weather dependent, and a nightmare and frustrating time for the League Captain’s in arranging matches in a compact schedule before the end of our short playing season. A testing time also for the small team who maintain the Green and ensure it’s ready for home matches & roll ups

During the month of June 17 league matches were planned of which we won nine, Drew one, Lost two, four were called off due to rain and one match cancelled off due to the opposition being unable to field a team. At the time of publication our league standings for all four leagues are favourable and can be viewed on the club’s website: http://www.bradenhambowlsclub.co.uk

The Coral Cup was played for where 8 clubs Bradenham, Harling, Hingham, Shropham, Watton & Wicklewood Bowls Clubs, each providing two teams of four players. They each played one game over 18 ends, Bradenham 'A' beat Hingham 19-12 and Bradenham 'B' drew 19-19 against Shropham. Overall Bradenham as a team came 2nd in the competition to Wicklewood by 2 points. An excellent performance by Bradenham compared to previous years.

Why noy not visit our website: http://www.bradenhambowlsclub.co.uk where you’ll find lots of information regarding updates, fixtures, results and lots more.

Alternatively, anyone wishing to try their hand can attend our weekly Sunday roll ups at 2.00pm which gives members new and current an opportunity to hone their skills, check for match selection, have a cup of tea and a Mardle.

This is also an opportunity for anyone interested in taking up the sport, no experience is necessary, and all equipment is provided all we ask is that you flat soled shoes with no heels or ridges to protect the Green.

We are located on Hale Road IP25 7RA on the site of the Football Club if using the “WhatThreeWords” app the location is: ///worms.attracts.areas.
