Season Underway

The season is underway and as ever with the British summer the weather has been unpredictable. Within the space of 72 hours the contrast could not have been greater. One evening cold damp and drizzling the other warm and very pleasant. The results were also contrasting, a heavy loss on the wet evening but a very good win on the warmer night. So, if this is to be played out over the course of the season the Club is praying for more warm barmy evenings. Out of the six matches played to date there have been four wins and two losses. The team captains are pleased with the efforts of all concerned and are looking forward to more victories.

One of the most pleasing things so far has been the start of the playing career of four new members. This is most encouraging however they are all men, but the Club is desperately looking for new lady members. Therefore, if there are any ladies wishing to get involved then please feel free to come along on a Sunday afternoon and enjoy a ‘roll up’! What has been nice to see is the number of people who have dropped in when matches have been played in the evenings just to give the players a bit of support. If you are out for an evening stroll with family or the dog, please stop by and support the team. There are seven home matches during June with all fixtures and results posted on the Club website
