Flaming June hardly seems appropriate for the weather we have had in the village this year. More matches have been postponed so far in June than the whole of last season. This puts pressure on those selecting teams and re-arranging fixtures. If everything works according to a plan, players can play regularly and allow for those injuries to mend. Yes, bowlers have injuries but more attributable to old age, creaking bones and bad backs than anything else. Fixture congestion results in members having to play three and sometimes four times a week to fulfil the fixture lists and as the season progresses this takes it toll. Overall, the club is looking forward to more warm and barmy evenings when bowling is a great deal of fun.

Over the last month the club has participated in eight league and three cup games. One win and two losses in cup matches sees the club out of Cup competitions. However, results in the leagues have faired slightly better with more wins than defeats.
